Grants and financial assistance
As a homebuyer building a new home, you may be eligible for grants and incentives towards to help you build your new home and/or make it energy efficient.
Peet’s Flying Start
At some Peet communities, homebuyers may receive a Flying Start package, which provides rebates for activities like landscaping and fencing. For details, select the Peet community of your choice at www.peet.com.au.
First homebuyers
The First Home Owner Grant scheme provides a one-off grant of up to $7,000 for eligible first homebuyers in Australia. In addition, some States provide additional incentives for first homebuyers.
In Western Australia, this incudes stramp duty concessions, while in Victoria first homebuyers enjoy an additional First Home Bonus until 30 June 2010.

Keystart
Keystart is a Western Australian initiative that helps people enter affordable housing by providing ‘low deposit’ lending. Buyers can borrow a percentage of their loan from Keystart without the usual 5% deposit. For more information, visit www.keystart.com.au.
Energy efficiency incentives
The Federal government is developing a new initiative – the Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme - to help Australian home owners improve the energy efficiency of their home, and save in energy costs.
Victorian home owners can also access a range of rebates through Sustainability Victoria, while Western Australia home owners may also be eligible for rebates on solar hot water systems.
